Hair science
The raw materials, especially hair and bristles, are purchased only from long-standing and reliable suppliers, mostly from Germany. Often the collaboration has been going on for more than 50 years.
The natural hair comes from German preparation and from German suppliers.
All synthetic fiber mixtures used were developed by us and tested over many years. Different hair thicknesses, lengths and geometries (straight and wavy) are used here. Each synthetic fiber has been specifically selected for the respective application. The Kolibri brand stands for the highest level of brush making expertise in the field of synthetic fibers.

Pure natural red sable hair Master Quality
The absolute top quality for high-quality artist brushes. They have an extremely fine tip, a relatively light colour and very good resilience and shape retention. Ideal for fluid colours, detailed techniques and transparent work.
Pure light-coloured natural ox hair blend, Pure brown natural ox hair blend, Pure black natural ox hair blend
The natural ox hair blends are strong and elastic and originate from the ears of special cattle breeds. They are very suitable for oil painting brushes and impasto work.
Pure natural fine hair mixture
Special mixture of different natural hairs. Very suitable for washing and flat brushes.
Pure natural red sable hair
Also fine tips and good elasticity and colour absorption and release. Particularly precise painting edge.
Pure natural badger hair
Strong hair with good colour absorption.
Pure natural polecat hair
Have a finetip and strong elasticity.
Pure natural squirrel hair
The hair is extremely supple and has very good colour absorption and even colour release. Less elasticity than red sable hair.
Pure white natural goat hair
Relatively soft hair with good colour release.

Used in various mixing qualities, on the one hand for pick-up and shaping brushes and for inexpensive school brushes.
